Which power supply should I buy ? + list [700 watt+)
Hey,
I currently have a CoolerMaster M700 Silent , which has a 135mm fan. But the fan or the fans motor started to make a weird noise. I requested RMA and I can choose from the following power supplies:
Antec New TruePower SLi 750W (ATX, SLi)
Be Quiet Dark Power 750W PRO (ATX, v2,2 , Modulair, BQT P7-PRO 750W)
Zalman 750 watt (ZM750-HP)
Zalman ZM850-HP, 850W
Antec TruePower Quattro
Which power supply is the most silent?
I'd say the Zalman ZM850-HP is the quiest but I don't know for sure
My setup:
Core i7 920 (with overclocking)
Gigabyte UD5
3GB OCZ DDR3
XFX GTX 280 1GB (with overclocking)
1 x Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB

We expected Quad SLI to blow us away in games and prove why we needed to spend $1000 on it. What we were left with though was a feeling that it didn’t provide us with anything, nothing that would make us want to install it in our own system as a gaming platform right now. Even at 2560x1600 it seems most games are content with a single GTX 295 or equivalent.
The only game where we saw a distinct advantage at 2560x1600 was Crysis: Warhead.
thing is you can get a decent power supply with plenty of power now.
put at least 100$ for a good-quality and quiet power supply such as the Enermax Modu82+, Seasonic or Corsair (also made by Seasonic), if you're going to buy a TX-series Corsair, buy the 650W one, since the 750W have a 140mm non-standard fan, harder to replace it if you're going to change the fan inside, and i think the maker is different also, and maybe a little longer.
I can't believe they make huge power supplies because they have more power, it seem like they could make a 1000W PSU with the same size as that Corsair TX650W.
