Scythe PSUs - any opinions?

Does anyone have any opinion on the Scythe PSUs? Particularly the Scythe Stronger line?

I ask because they are relatively cheap, with a presumably good quality fan.

I have never owned Scythe PSU, but I modded my Seasonic S12 (changed a Scythe fan there) and got it quiet...

If I may ask... what Scythe fan did you put into it? I also thought about this but feared that a more silent fan would be too weak causing the PSU to overheat.
I got a S12 II 520w and since I really am annoyed by its fan's sound, I was considering buying a fanless unit, but this would be a cheaper option

This will depend on your set up - especially your idle and load power consumption, but speaking generally, any fan that spins @ 500 RPM when you PC idles, and can do >1200 RPM when you put heavy load on the machine, will be perfect. Most modern and fairly strong setups idle @ 80-100 W, so your SS will be perfectly safe with just a bisschen of luft
And since you (probably?) don't go over 300 W in load, you don't need your fan to spin faster than 1000 RPM.
I've recently put a Kaze 1200 in my PSU and control it manually. I estimate it spins @ 500 RPM in idle. I never really have to max it as my setup is quite frugal with power. I idle at exactly 100 W and go to 200-220 W when gaming.
Previously I had SS 430 and a Fander in it (600-1400 RPM), and it also worked very well.
IMO a fanswapped PSU of good quality (SS, Antec, BQ, Enermax) is the thing to beat. Sure, the X series rocks, but at what price? I got mine SS Bronze for roughly 30 euro, the fan cost me 5 euro. Cheap, v good quality, effectively silent

According to the Scythe website the fans have the following speed and noise levels (for both Stronger & Stronger Plug-in):
Cooling:
Scythe Slip Stream 140 mm Fan
- max. 1,200 rpm (500 W)
- max. 1,250 rpm (600 W)
- max. 1,350 rpm (700 W)
Noise Level:
9.6 – 23.2 dBA (500 W)
10.1 – 24.2 dBA (600 W)
10.5 – 27.9 dBA (700 W)
