Use laptop power supply to power my NAS

Post by MikeW » Thu Mar 31, 2011 1:21 pm

I was wondering if this is possible, I have a computer with one sata hard drive and an atom motherboard that only use for filesharing. Is it possible to use the a laptop power adapter to power that pc?
Fanless power supplies are very expensive were I live and that would be a great solution. I guess I would need one with 12v and from there make some small circuit to get 5v and 3v. Any ideas? Has someone done this? Any link?
