About the PSU in the Antec ISK 300-65 Mini-ITX

Post by hmp_goose » Thu Jul 21, 2011 2:47 pm

I've been looking at building something LGA1155 with this case, and while I think any CPU with a "T" in it's name should work great in the case, I've just now figured out all the motherboards I'd put in it have both the 24-pin ATX power patch, but also the 4-pin one as well. My problem is that A) I can't tell if this PSU provides the 4-pin patch, and B) Do I even need it, what with a 35W CPU?

(I suppose a smart guy would ask which wattage CPUs need the 4-pinner, also. )

It does. It also provides a slim sata power connector, which makes sense since it has a slim optical bay. (Wish I knew this sooner!)
Also I can verify that in my build I just finished yesterday, a Core i3-2100 non-t was perfectly fine. It hasn't gone over 60w from the wall, which means something like 51-53 watts from the psu itself.
Also I don't remember well, but I think it has 3 or 4 sata cables in addition to the slim sata and a couple molex ports.

I'd be careful running a non-underlocked 2100 on that since it can burn more, for instance if you do 3D with it or otherwise laod the GPU (quicksync?).
A G620 (the cheapest Sanby Bridge right now) should be fine however.

It does.
Heh.

Sorry: That was my fault.

So the PSU in an ISK 300-65 does have the 4-pin line for the CPU?
