Cheaper alternatives to Corsair AX / Seasonic X ???

Hello,

I recently sold my computer.
Originally I wanted to keep the great Seasonic PSU (a 700W M12 unit), but the buyer was so impressed by my silent system that he paid extra for a better PSU. So now it's gone.

I'm going to assemble a new PC and have been looking at both the Seasonic X series and the Corsair AX.

Both these (I'm looking at 700W minimum) are quite expensive however.

Are there any cheaper alternatives?
They don't have to be as quiet as the Seasonic X or Corsair AX series, I'm more than happy if they match my old 700W Seasonic.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Perhaps the Cooler Master Silent Pro M 700W. Very quite, modular, good electrical performance, and 5 years warranty. Received the "Recommended by SPCR" award. If your system needs such a powerful PSU then this PSU should be quieter than the other components, though I don't know which components you use.

Many Enermax PSU's are also known to by very quiet.

You could consider the Be Quiet E9 series, which have a 135mm fan. They are cheaper than Seasonic, but not by that much. It may depend on availablility/pricing in your locale. There is the Cooler Master Silent Pro M as well, but there is about to be a version 2 of this PSU http://www.guru3d.com/news/cooler-maste ... next-month so it might affect your choice.

The FSP Aurum is the least expensive 700W gold certified PSS (where I live). It's not as quiet as Enermax or Seasonic, but but still good till ~50% load.
The LEPA G 700W is Enermax' budget line. It has Enermax' extremely quiet fan control and is otherwise very similar to the Modu 87+.
I have heard people complain about failing beQuiet units, but I'm not sure what series and if that still true for new models. The failures were just after the warranty ran out, that's extremely annoying. Happened to me with a Silentmaxx unit once.

Thanks for all the tips.

I have looked around a lot now, and really can't find too many good alternatives to the Corsair AX 850, so I just ordered that (even though it is expensive).

The only good alternative for sale where I live (Norway) seems to be the FSP Aurum series, but it's almost as expensive so I just got the Corsair AX.

Thanks for the input anyway!
