Super Flower's new Platinum King range of PSUs has arrived in the retail channel in the UK. There are 3 models - 450w, 550w and 650w. Prices including VAT (sales tax) are £64.99, £74.99 and £87.95 from sources such as Overclockers UK.
The 450w model is the cheapest Platinum PSU currently on the UK market. Part of the explanation for the lower cost is that these units are non-modular. And there is no semi-passive ECO mode. Size is 145mm x 150mm x 86mm for all three models. Warranty is 5 years.

Shit, perfect otherwise. Looking for something <150 mm.non-modular. And there is no semi-passive ECO mode
Re: Super Flower introduces low cost Platinum PSU range
I have found even lower prices from Watercooling UK, £59.35 for the 450w, the 550w is £66.68 and £78.78 buys the 650w. This level of prices should apply elsewhere in the EU, the 450w for example is currently being advertised at around €70.
It might be worth noting that as far as I know Super Flower do not sell their PSUs in North America. They have appeared there under other brand names including Kingwin. Super Flower are probably best known as an OEM PSU supplier to EVGA.

AFAIK it's basically a Golden Green HX: so probably it's decent albeit not that quiet (check the old SF Golden Green 350 SPCR review).

Is the saving of at best ~13-14W (assuming 3% at 450W) over a Gold really worth the loss of useful features?
During normal loads of around 100W this would only account to 2W (2%) difference anyways.

The european distributor told me that these Platinum King units are NOT meant for the silent enthusiasts: personally I'd avoid them.
