Drive Speed software and Windows 7

Post by McBainUK » Tue Apr 27, 2010 9:39 pm

Under XP I used Nero Drive speed to quieten a DVD drive used in a HTPC enviroment. Now I have Windows 7 and it doesn't have the same effect.

Looking through the threads there seems to be a number of software options. Which one would you guys recommend for use with WIndows 7.

The drive itself is a 4yr old Liteon if that makes a difference.

It works fine until the PC is rebooted. Then I have to enter all the settings again. Is there a way of making it remember the required speed settings?.

I did wonder that as for the "restart with windows" option it says "registered users only". But, I can't figure out what and where I can buy... :?

I'd try contacting the program's author at the email address that he's listed on his web site.
