NEC DVD RW spins up during DVDs

Post by autoboy » Tue Apr 18, 2006 8:32 pm

I picked up a NEC (3550A i think) DVD RW drive and i'm using it to play DVDs with SAGE TV. It is usually quite quiet but during some DVDs it has the tendancy to spin up. I am running windows 2000 and DMA is enabled. What would cause it to spin up and how can i fix it?

Use "DriveSpeed" from Nero. It's free and very easy to use.

I am using it with my BenQ 1655.

Bringing up an old topic but my drivespeed settings never stay. Everytime I reboot the settings are changed back to default. Is there any way to fix this?

My drivespeed has an option "restore speed settings at startup" you should deselect that optoin as I.
