Shieled SATA cables, do they exist and/or are they needed?

Hello

I currently have one SATA drive and thinking of buying two more. But from what I've heard the standard doesn't require shieled cables and that the connectors are vulnerable. And that if you place SATA connectors close toghether they could interfere with eachother and thus resulting in data corruption.

What are your thoughts on this?
And shouldn't it be relatively easy to prevent this by isolating the connectors with some material?

Also, does the ATA -> SATA converters work the otherway around - so that I can run a SATA drive on a ATA motherboard? (that might come in handy though I won't use it alot).
