HOT DEAL! samsung 160gb SATA for $60

Post by Numbers » Wed Jan 05, 2005 11:54 pm

Here's the deal: SOME (not all) Microcenters have the 160GB SATA spinpoints on sale for $60. I'll check tomorrow if they have them in Philly. Anyways, this is in store only, the web price is still $99. If they DO have them by me, I MIGHT be willing to pick some up to ship out to those who don't have the sale going on near them. But we'll work that out later on down the line.

This might be a great deal providing they're not old stock.
Let us know please!
Dibs! Put me down for one. I'll cover all shipping (plus some! :D )

Hmmm tempting.

I could use a new SATA version for my Nforce4 upgrade...then again would NCQ help at all...*sigh* the decisions!

Shoot me a PM if you find them there. I'll let you know Numbers.

BTW I have trading references under Interitus at Heatware.com (57-0-0)

slight problem: I suggest if you live in the US, to check if there's a microcenter near you. There's a limit of 1 hard drive per visit, and I'm NOT going back 10 times for you folks, especially since I'm not getting any for myself either. Sorry guys, I tried.

Hmm...what consitutes a visit?

Going in, getting drive, buying drive, going out store door, going to car to off-load drive.

Repeat.

I will be going to my local MC, and if they have the drives, I will try the above twice, to get two of them. I won't need them probably until Feb. or March, but I don't think they will be down to that price until at least the 3 or 4th quarter of '05, if even that soon.

Why are you not getting any for yourself? What a deal! How long is this supposed to last?

I believe for the week. And I just got a 300gb maxtor ultra16 to go with my 200gb 7200.7. I have no need for more drives.

Thanks for the offer anyways Numbers :)

Don't think there's a Microcenter anywhere near me though. I live in the St. Louis area.

Just got back from my local Microcenter in Richardson, TX. Drives are $99, at least today they are. I went ahead and got one anyway, they had two, and both were NIDEC motors. Oh, well. I wasn't really willing to drive the 30 miles again to get a better price, that is, if there would be in the next couple months.

I wish it would be possible to get hold of the drives at such prices here in Sweden. Over here they cost 120 USD
