You can get WinAAM here
The program is written in german, but it is really easy to use anyway. You can guess what the buttons will do, because there are only 3-4 buttons in total.
I've used that program (an earlier version of it, haven't tried this new one) with great success on my Maxtor DM9 SATA. It didn't work on my Samsung Spinpoint P120 200GB SATA though.

I used this utility, and noticed that it would only set the AAM of my Western Digital Caviar drive to either full on, or full off. But during the AAM "test", I was able to move the slider to any value. Is it normal to not be able to select anything other than 128/255?mircea wrote:Get Hitachi's Feature Tool ISO version and write a bootable cd.

That question has been asked and answered dozens and dozens of times. If you use the search function to look for "AAM" you'll get 411 hits. I'll double-dog gar-run-tee you that at least one of them will explain what AAM is.peterson wrote:What is AAM?
