Right, I have an Antect sonata 2 case.

Going from an ABIT AV8 (Athlon 64 cpu) to an Asrock ContoeeSata2 board (Core 2 Duo) - the design of the Asrock has meant my wires are all over the palce and it has made it very hard to get my Scythe SIlent drive down on the floor with any decent sort of padding - and I am getting laods of vibrations with my new Ssmung...

So I plan to totally surround the silent drive with somesort of material..what will happen if I do this?

Firs I will cut out a section of the Antec Case http://www.hluxx.de/Images/Antec/Sonata/06040024s.jpg

Currently I have wires in the right bottom hand comaprtment where the 4 hard drive bays are.. I plan to cut away all of the metal apart from the mainframe (as I saw someone on here do - which will give me enough space to get the Scythe Box in - then I plan to put my Scythe in and completley fill that whole 'box' with somesort of insulating material - that should totally cover it up and block out any noise

It might raise the temp a bit more tho - I am currently on 40degrees with the Scythe out on the floor - what might the temp go up to and what is the amx I should risk?

Material wise I will maybe look at some commercial thick material or maybe even just some thick cotton wool? http://vet2stable.com/images/cotton-woo ... -600px.jpg
