Considering all drives will be softmounted and be the 320 GB version, which one wins in terms of performance and noise?
Price is 113 vs 115 vs 121, so a non-issue.
My concerns are that Samsung might screw me with a JVC motor, WD has been caught as well using crappy motors as well on the smaller drives and Seagate gets mixed results where I can't pinpoint the reason.

I currently have two of these drives (the Western Digital and Samsung), and I'd have to say the Samsung wins noise wise.
The Western Digital is pretty quiet itself, but has a noticeable idle noise in a completely quiet room (my ambient noise level is pretty low) so I was able to hear it sitting a couple of feet away.
As a result of this, I went and got the Samsung since I read alot of good reviews of this HDD. And the reviews were right, the drive is pretty much dead quiet (with AAM enabled), and you only notice it when you put your head directly up against the case. Otherwise you don't hear it at all.
I'm not sure about the Seagate, but if your deciding between these two drives, I'd highly recommend the Samsung.
