Post by tonyw » Wed May 16, 2007 3:54 pm

Hi all,

Looks like Western Digital has finally answered the large capacity bell: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =HD-144-WD

I have high hopes for this drive, as I have the WD 500GB RE16 drive and am very pleased with it :D

Just to prevent any heart attacks by people clicking over there without paying attention: it's BRITISH POUNDS, not dollars. For a second there....

Wow, really?

But anyway, if you're not expecting it, guess what you think first: dollars? Amazing, huh?

Between the .co.uk domain, the pound sign, and the price "inc VAT", you'd have to be pretty excited not to notice...

I guess you mean: "Just to prevent any heart attacks by Americans clicking over there without paying attention: it's BRITISH POUNDS, not dollars."

I don't see why the 95% of humanity who aren't American would automatically think that first.

Sorry if I'm labouring the point, but it's this kind of attitude which really doesn't do the USA's image any favours at all.

If it's what you see 999 times out of 1000, that 1 time it's something else will be a surprise. The eye trains itself to expect certain things.
