I have the drive decoupled now in my 5,25" bay with these http://www.hama.de/portal/articleId*83817/action*2563 , and although they stop the vibrations, I can still hear it spin since I'm sitting ~25 cm from it.(This is the only thing that can be heard since I only have one fan in the system).
Idles at 50-55 and can easily hit 60's at load, thus my concern for lowering temps.
I can't have it anywhere else in the case without creating custom fitting, and I would prefer having it where it is now since I'm tired of modding now.
SOOOO to the point, am considering one of the following:
HFX VERTICAL SILENCE HDD COOLER - 50 €
Scythe Quiet Drive HD - 34 €
Are there any other worth considering (fanless of course)?
Harddrive - lower heat and sound

My 2500KS died, and I RMA'd it. This (recertified) drive seems to have an accurate temperature sensor. My old one always reported 60C though, and that was faulty.[F]bernZ wrote:My assumption is that you have the 2500KS.
In that case, subtract about 20C from your hard drive's temperature. The 2500KS series (not aaks) suffered from a miscalibrated temperature sensor.
