help needed to turn AAM off for the single platter WD 320GB
I've been trying to boot hitachi feature tool from my usb flash drive, as I lack a floppy drive, and I haven't been able to find any way to do this. I've also heard that you can't turn AAM off for this drive, but the review on this site clearly had it turned off somehow. help is appreciated.
You can download it as a CD image (ISO file), burn it on a CD-R or CD-RW with image burning software like Nero or ImgBurn (freeware) and boot from the CD.

Yeah that does sound a little wasteful. Personally, I run the Feature Tool from Ultimate Boot CD which contains a number of other useful utilities like memtest and diagnostic software from other HDD makers.
