Hard Drive Coolers?

I've been looking at http://www.akasa.com.tw/akasa_english/s ... _hd_bl.htm since my drives run a little hot in my case. They're in a Lian Li V2000B. But rather than in the standard racks (which have been removed to fit a radiator) they are in the 5 1/4 bays fitted with decoupling "heatsink" type things. I've put the heatsink in brackets since I don't really put a great deal of weight in the heat dissipation of these devices, but they do reduce the seek noise.

I don't like the colour of the Akasa cooler, but that's a minor thing. I notice it has a 4 pin pass through connect, which for SATA drives isn't ideal since it means running another molex up there.

Is anyone aware of alternatives to this Akasa product, black would be nice, but the main thing is some kind of alternative way of powering them.

Any comments I've read on the cooler suggest they're quiet, if they aren't I'd also like to find that out before I buy em :)

If black is your thing check out the Nexus Frizzbee. As a small note the Molex on the coolers can be used to passthrough power to minimize cables (as in HDD + cooler only single Molex) but you can just wire up the fan with a single Molex and the HDD with its own power cable.

Yep, a sata power cable passthrough would be the best solution though.

I'll have a look at the Nexus thing. Thanks.

Performance PC's has a "SATA-2-Molex Adapter" on their website:

Anything above 50 I'm not comfortable with.
