Seagate 7200.7 200GB (100 GB/platter) starts to ship

Seagate is finally shipping their new 100GB/platter hard disks. Availability is first in Asia and hopefully soon in EU and Amerca.

Currently only the PATA version is available. The SATA version (once it ships) should support NCQ.

It'll be interesting to see if these are any quieter/louder than current generation 7200.7 disks.

Seagate’s new HDDs resist up to 350Gs of non-operating shock and are among the quietest hard drives in their class, emitting less than 2.5bels at idle and excellent performance. Average seek time of the novelties is 8.5ms, while the maximum internal transfer rate is approximately 85.4MB/s (683Mb/s),
Less than 2.5dB....That doesn't sound much louder than the current 7200.7 Seagate harddisks available.
