Seagate is finally shipping their new 100GB/platter hard disks. Availability is first in Asia and hopefully soon in EU and Amerca.

Currently only the PATA version is available. The SATA version (once it ships) should support NCQ.
It'll be interesting to see if these are any quieter/louder than current generation 7200.7 disks.

Average seek time of the novelties is 8.5ms, while the maximum internal transfer rate is approximately 85.4MB/s (683Mb/s),
