Will AMD Socket 939 HSF work on Socket 754 motherboard?

I'm putting together an nForce3 Socket 754 system for my son--he wants it as cheap as possible.

So, I have a stock Socket 939 HSF that came with my Athlon64 X2 3800. (I replaced it with a Zalman 7000.)

Will this stock AMD HSF work on a Socket 754 motherboard (Abit NF-8)?

Yes, the retention systems for sockets 754 and 939 are the same.
