Thermalright axp-140 in Antec P183 case?

Post by zenith » Sat Nov 21, 2009 12:17 am

Does anyone know if the Thermalright AXP-140 cooler fits in an Antec P183 case? I will probably use it to cool a i7 920 cpu in combination with a X58 motherboard. Probably installed with a 12cm fan. Thermalright states that it does not fit in cases where the psu is placed at the bottom:

I did not get much wiser looking the illustration. I assume it might be because of clearance/overhang between the motherboard and case walls?

Why wouldn't it fit? The PSU chamber is completely isolated from the motherboard area in the P183. Thermalright is talking specifically about motherboards mounted horizontally (since this heatsink is intended for HTPC applications).
