Mobile Athlon64 35W CPU

Post by POLIST8 » Tue Jun 08, 2004 12:58 pm

Is there anyone out there who has installed this CPU into a regular 754 motherboard with success?

I'm thinking of purchasing it, but I'm not positive if it will work or not.

I've been reading around about people's experiences. Being that they're new, there are a few kinks to work out, but reports seem to be promising. I have every confidence that in a month or so most s754 motherboards will support these cpus (with a bios update if necessary).

As for recommending a purhcase--I would wait if I were you. If you can hold out for another few weeks, maybe a month, I'm betting that most of the kinks will be worked out. I think it will probably be worth the wait too, these look to be some awesome cpus =)

I think that waiting a month or two is a good idea as well.

Thanks for responding to my post guys...It's harder finding information on 64s than XPs, and anything you can dig up is usually helpful.

Here is a thread about the 62W 3000 mobile. Using an MSI Neo Platinum he got it up to 2.5ghz http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview ... TMP=Linear

Looks like I'll be waiting for the Biostar nForce3 250 chipset to come out...

By then more information on more systems should be available.
