Thermal compound.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience using Arctic Silver 5 and Ceramique. I thought I ordered AS5, but it turns out I actually ordered Ceramique. Is there a large difference between the two? Is one any easier to use than the other?

I think I saw one review online that compared them, and the AS5 came out slightly ahead, but according to the company it needs between 25-300 hours to properly set so I'm wondering if the reviewers actually did that.

Ceramique easier to use & clean up. Most opinions put it behind AS5 by only a degree or two C...

Maybe that'll work to my advantage then, since this'll be the first time actually building a computer, heh.

I concur with Ephemeral's take on it. Ceramique is certainly easier to use than AS5 and cools damn-near as good as AS5. As a first-time builder I think your ordering mistake was actually quite serendipitous

Well I do feel better about it now, I haven't even got the motherboard or CPU yet and I'm dreading having to put a heatsink on the thing.

Thanks to both of you Ephemeral and Ralf. :)
