A few days ago Internetnews anounced AMD's new budget PC.

$249 for computer including 15" monitor and keyboard and mouse.
$185 without monitor.
I believe this includes the OS as well.
The computer is primarilly aimed for new markets in countries with emerging economies, but might end up as a budget alternative in other countries.
It will work fine for surfing and probably lots of other light load activities.
OS is modded Windows CE.
CPU is unfortunately AMD Geode GX 500 (366MHz), 128MB RAM, 10GB disc. I was hoping that they would have used the Geode NX 1500 for this computer. The GX 500 is roughly as fast as a VIA C3 500MHz.
