minimum voltage of zalman 7000 Cu?
Is it possible to lower the voltage even more than that possible with the fan controller supplied? Tapping either 5V or inserting an additional resistor? At what voltage does the fan cease to reliable start?

Well, I got curious after reading your post. So I turn my T-ban control on CNPS 7000A w. stock fan down to 4% duty cycle and it's still spinning at 113 rpm based on T-ban report. CPU temp increase from 33°C to 50°C (side panel open w. room temp at 26°C), and still climbing up after 10 minutes.mco_chris wrote:You're talking 100% straight-line DC and not PWM DC, right? My Zalman fan won't go that low on PWM. I'm disappointed with Zalman fan speed via PWM - it stops around 50% duty cycle.
I did stop the fan using finger on fan hub and fan spinned again when I released it. If I go below 4% duty cycle, fan will stop though.
I think so.
1. Analog sensor seems to read temp comparatively more accurate than its digital cousin. There's some discussion on this in one of the T-ban thread here.
2. It's easier to place analog sensor in tight space e.g. I have one on back side of vga card underneath ZM80D.
3. Analog hub gives additional function to T-ban e.g. emergency shut off.
Now that mCubed allows you to configure what you like, total cost is not too bad. When I ordered my T-ban + analog hub + 4 analog sensor, and forego all digital sensors, I paid just a few USD more than a standard unit with digital sensors.
