xp-90 and xp-90c and swiftech mcx6400-v
im building a new system, and i had intended on getting the alluminum version of the xp-90, but now im wondering about the copper. It seems to way in at 690g, im assuming it would be above 800g with a fan. is that too much stress on the motherboard?
oh yeah, and does anybody know anything about the Swiftech MCX6400-V?

SPCR is AWESOME

Dude,
a) You should mention your processor when asking a question like this
b) since I remember your post from the other thread, I know you plan on getting the XP-90 for a Winchester A64 3000+ silent music server.
The XP-90c will be overkill for what you want. I'm generally uncomfortable putting anything tall AND heavy on the motherboard, but I believe that Thermalright is well engineered, so I wouldn't antipate you having any problems unless you're gonna play football with the computer.

I just bought an XP-90c . It wound up costing $4 less than an XP-120 I am very impatiently waiting for it to turn up .
I already have an XP-120 but it had compatability isuues with everything I tried it on (so far) but I will be able to compare the two outside of a case on a 3.4 p4 - See how it goes anyway.

MCX6400-V is not particularly good for low noise (slow fan rpm) setups:

XP-90 is better and XP-120 even more so.
