athon 64 3200 at stock with a 7700alcu.
antec p180
vf700 5v
3 tricool fans on low
it's just...too..loud. and when the room is warm, it peaks at 50C 5v (like 48 at 12v). should i try and reseat the heatsink by spreaking the paste (i just plopped it on last time), and try to mod it with a nexus fan? or, should i just get a ninja and a nexus and be done with it...? it's clearly making more noise than any other fan in the case which is really dissapointing. i can even hear while the tv is on!
7700 just not cutting it

Greetings,
Maybe a fan swap is required? There is an SPCR article about this -- the Nexus would be a lot quieter. Also, you can likely undervolt the CPU; at least a 10th of a volt or two...it would lower the temp.
Your ambient temp must be the difference -- I built an Athlon 64 3200+ and at stock voltage, using the 7000Al/Cu, it stayed below 42C 95% of the time while Folding passively! That was in an Evercase 4252 with just the Fortron "Green" 300w PS and a 6volted medium speed Yate Loon, running ~900RPM.

I used to have your setup (p180 w/AMD3200+ and 7700 alcu). My idles were high 30's (38-39) 'C (and I live in Singapore so ambient is 26-29'C at night and 33-35'C during the day, in this normally not-airconditioned room). So I'd say its probably your mounting+paste spread.
oh, and I never had the 7700 at 12v, I always had it hooked up to a fanmate, and probably had it turned down to at least halfway.
