[CeBIT 06] Scythe Infinity and much more.
Scythe Infinity
In their other news are passive 7600 & 7900
and 16Gt flash drive for 600$
Or Samsung 32Gt flash drive for ~960$.
And for HTPCs that uses an slow(quiet) cpu an H.264 Hardware decoder
Yep I'm to laisy to make multiple topics in their correct forum this late and after an looong day at work sorry. I tried to look for topics about these and didn't find any.

Thanks for posting.
The Scythe Infinity looks interesting with 5 heat pipes. Too bad there isn't a better shot of how closely the fins are spaced.
I like the second video card cooler. I wonder if that is Gigabyte or Galaxy... either way it almost looks as if both coolers use enclosed fins towards the rear of the cards, like is supposed to duct air through them to the outside (in or out, who knows what they expect though).

The right pic must be the Galaxy since the cooler in the left pic is Gigabytes Silent-Pipe II.

Did they show the NCU-3000? I have an NCU-2000, so I have a sort of personal interest in that upcoming model.jmke wrote:Scythe also has new Silent Box, a Fan controller, working on silent PSU, another high performance cooler with support for 140mm fan size, and more. working on putting our Cebit coverage online asap

yes the NCU-3000 was on display; here's what I've wrote up on the NCU for upcoming Cebit coverage:
"Scythe is constantly looking for new ways to keep high end PCs cool with passive cooling, on the photo below at the left you see a first design of their chipset cooling, it's not finalized and there might be some changes still. Next to it you see their NCU-3000, but unfortunately the increased size of the fins did not deliver the expected performance increase, the Scythe Ninja is still the top performer in passive cooling. As an experiment they made a Ninja out of copper, while it did improve performance 2-3°C, the extra weight required changes to the mounting mechanism, so it's not going into the retail channels, you might see a few units appear here and there, as they made a small batch."
so the NCU-3000 in its current state won't see the daylight as the performance was not up to par
this is the photo I'm referring to in the quoted text (copy & paste link to address bar) http://www.madshrimps.be/articles/Cebit ... -11015.jpg

Thanks very much. Too bad that the NCU-3000 isn't ready. I can't see what they would do to improve the performance of it though... I can see from the picture that they added extra fins to both sides of it already. I suppose they just have to identify what's limiting heat transfer and try to improve whatever that is.
Too bad about that copper Ninja too...

the copper Ninja is not that expensive to make, as the fins are quite thin, but the total weight would mean that they have to ship an extra metal bracket and instruct users to only use that bracket and no others; any oversight by the end-user and the Ninja might break their plastic bracket and cause serious damage

I don't know fur sure, but I think they are aiming the NCU-3000 to be their top dog in passive cooling.
here's my "coverage" on Scythe @ Cebit 2006

I'm still interested in the NCU-3000.jmke wrote:I don't know fur sure, but I think they are aiming the NCU-3000 to be their top dog in passive cooling.
