are my temps good?

Post by HiFi » Thu Apr 13, 2006 6:36 pm

first let me state my specs: P150 - A8N32-SLI - X2 4400 - Ninja. I have the Tricool at Low for the exhaust and i have Nexus at 12v on the Ninja.

Now my temps are 38C for the CPU and 41C for mobo at idle. after gaming for a while it rises to 41C for cpu and 44C for mobo. Im wondering should I add another fan for the intake?

lol - nope. Pretty decent temps. Any idea what your HDD and GPU are seeing? Only reason to ad an intake fan would be to cool the HDD.

the HDD is 54C but i've read the wd2500ks has a bug that shows the wrong temps anyway. GPU is 47C.

the only reason i asked about the intake fan is because my system had the same temps with the stock AMD heatsink running at 2700RPM (loud). and i thought the Ninja would make the temps lower. Maybe ill try an reapply the AS5 since i might have added too much.

It should be pretty easy to tell if the HDD is too hot -- stick your finger on it! If it hurts, it's too hot!

Your *idle* temps look a fair bit higher than those I'm getting with a smaller, slower fan on the Ninja. OTOH your load temps look fine. Certainly nothing remotely dangerous.

the higher temp at idle is more likely due to the low fan rpm on the ninja and airflow through the case than dealing with the AS5. At best, you'd see a difference of a degree C or two by reapplication. up the rpm's or improve case airflow and see what happens.

Personally, I'd focus on the HDD. Worrying about CPU temps that are WELL within normal parameter and not being concerned about the HDD that's showing 50C+ temps for whatever reason....

Seems like, in a good airflow situation, your mobo temp would be in the low 30's....but, I'm unfamiliar on where the temp sensor is on that card...
