How do you get that back plate off the motherboard? Mine is stuck and isn't budging.

By not removing the paper in the first place.

I'd try freezing your motherboard. That might help make the glue brittle. Then try applying alcohol (rubbing alcohol or maybe vodka). It might dissolve the glue. If that doesn't work, well, look into citrus cleaners and see what kinds of glue removers you can find at a hardware store. Just make sure you don't accidently melt off anything you need.

Also, why do you need to remove the backplate? Why would you replace a Ninja? It's the best (or at least one of the best) air coolers on the market for silencers and quieters.

I use a hairdryer to remove backplates.
When yoiu make the backplate a bit hot, mostly it comes of easy.

Hello,

I would try using a razor blade to separate the back plate from the sticky foam. Then peeling off the foam might be possible -- or at least a lot easier?

This is the technique I used once (before realizing that there was no good reason to glue it down in the first place -- doh!). It took maybe 10 minutes to cut off the metal plate, and about a half-hour to remove the foam and glue with nasty solvents. Really nasty solvents would have done the job faster.

I find it unbelievable that this isn't a bigger issue.
I mean you install the heatsink like the instructions tell you and it's almost impossible to get off.
Absolutely unacceptable in my opinion.
There's no way I'm gonna risk tearing up this $300 motherboard.
Hope this damn thing works as good as you guys say it does.
I will be very wary of buying abother Scythe product.
