Thermalright HR-01 vs. XP-120 and Ultra-120 @ PC Perspective

Post by Slaugh » Mon Sep 04, 2006 8:43 pm

PC Perspective wrote an article about 3 Thermalright coolers: the HR-01, the XP-120 and the Ultra-120. They were trying to find out if the HR-01, which is designed for passive cooling, was better than the XP-120 and the Ultra-120. They tested the HR-01 with, and without a Thermalright 120mm fan duct, and used one of the hottest CPU's on the market, an Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition dual-core 955. They tested the coolers inside a closed SilverStone SST-TJ05 case, with the stock 120mm case fan, and used a GeForce 7800 GTX 512 MB to add even more heat. The XP-120 and the Ultra-120 were tested with an Antec TriCool 120mm fan at 3 different speeds.
