Tuniq and Tower heatpipe heatsink type owners please respond

Post by IMOM » Thu Feb 01, 2007 1:02 am

Hi....I'm going to design my own HTPC case and wanted to use the Sunbeam Tuniq cpu heatsink or similar type, but I want the fan of the cpu heatsink to blow to the side of the case and not to the back of the case.

Can the Sunbeam Tuniq heatsink or similar type of tower heatpipe cpu heatsink be mounted so that the fan blows to the side of the case and not to the back of the case?

If you have a Tuniq or similar heatsink and a LGA775 motherboard, please respond.

Here's drawing of my design

Well, I don't know anything about the Tuniq, but the Ninja can have a fan mounted to any side.

If you want to go for quietness.. The Tuniq is probably not a good idea.

It'll work, but seeing the spacing between fins I'd say that it's about as good on low-airflow as the Thermaltake Big Typhoon.

You'd probably be better of with a Thermalright Ultra or Scythe Ninja.
But that's when you prefer quietness. 8)

Thanks for the tip s_xero and hravn...I'll checkout the ninja. I may get the SI-120 from thermalright if I decide to go with microatx instead of ATX HTPC wooden/metal case. Ninja all around mount seems very promising though. Take care.
