A review of the Thermaltake MaxOrb at Xbit

Post by Felger Carbon » Fri Apr 20, 2007 8:19 am

Shorter, half the weight, cools just as well at low power dissipation and only a little worse at high power dissipation, compared to the Big Typhoon. Noise levels judged same as BT. Review here.

It'll be interesting to see how well the MaxOrb noise level throttles down when using a conventional variable-DCV fan controller. A couple of places are accepting advance orders, but with no delivery date the last time I looked. Same thing for the TT V1 (copper) (use Froogle).

Xbit compared the two HSFs in the case.

edit: Whoops, the MaxOrb is available now, and so is the V1.

Wow, I am amazed that they crammed six heat pipes on that thing!

Not bad for something relatively low profile.
