NEW Thermalright HR-01 Plus

It was seen at Computex, but not officially announced, but it's in the CPU section, and here's a picture from the website:

hopefully it is like the ultra 120-120 extreme: more heatpipes = more performance.

It would be awesome if this thing could come close to the 120 extreme and still come with a fan duct.

Good find ryboto!

I've been waiting for an official announcement since I saw it in a photo from Computex 07. Hopefully the price wont be to high. This is exactly what I was waiting for to replace my Ultra 120 that I'm running passive. I imagine this is better suited for the job.

Back in April 25, 2006 this review would suggest you keep your Ultra 120 Extreme:

Nice, very nice!!

Hmm, potential fanless (well, case-airflow-only) sibling to the Ultra-120 Extreme... smaller size means it's not as ideally positioned/shaped to take advantage of the case fans in a P180/P182 as is the Ninja, but damned nice nonetheless.

I wonder if anyone else is going to consider moving to larger heatpipes a la Enzotech?

I don't have an extreme, I have the original 120. I think for my airflow setup, and the fact that in future builds I want to continue using fanless cpu cooling this heatsink, or a ninja would work best. I'm a little more fond of Thermalright though. Hopefully the reviews will give us ample benchmarks and comparisons.

That is Ultra not extreme. Extreme has 2 heatpipes more.

The picture of the HR-01 Plus looks the same as the HR-01 released in 2006 (and still, I think, the best CPU cooler given its superb performance and fanless design)

What are the differences with the plus version?

Think the Plus comes with the heat duct.

6 heat pipes instead of 4. Like the Ultra 120 Extreme did for the Ultra 120. Adds more heat lanes, in essence reducing the thermal resistance of conduction to the fins. Hopefully it will give the HR-01 as much of a boost as it did for the 120.

I saw that cooler on thermalright web site last week, emailed them when it will be released, but they said that they don't know yet...

Found this link:
http://forum.coolaler.com/showthread.php?t=156671

So, there you can see the diference compared to old version.
Could be interesting...

nice find! I wish they'd done some passive testing, or compared it to the Ultra 120, but I guess that will have to wait until we see a full on review.

Seems like a small boost. Cool. No pun intended :)

Can it swivel on all platforms like it can on AM2? I love that feature.

Anyone know price?

Availability?

Same height and weighs 75 grams more. Almost 2 1/2 ounces more.

Availability and price would be nice.
