Cool master just announced the Z600.

Apparently "the cooler’s X shape design retains rapid heat transfer and creates a lower backpressure, forcing air to pass through quickly."
Does this design seem like a plausible new breakthrough or is it just a gimmick?

Juding from the look of it and CM's less than brilliant rep its probably more of a design choice that theyve tried to justify later on.
However, it may perform quite well with all those heatpipes and large surface area, but i dont think it'll trouble the top air coolers.
Interesting stats:
Six 6mm heatpipes (8mm are proving better these days)
1045g! (doesnt say if thats with a fan or not, but either way, its a beast.)
127.8 x 127.8 x 160mm makes it fatter and taller than even the ninja.

Re: Cooler Master Hyper Z600
Read the Frosty Tech review here. Same cooling and noise as the Scythe Mugen (AMD div); same cooling as the Coolink Silentator but slightly more noise than the much-smaller Silentator. Gee, I wish I could buy a Silentator... (Also tested on the Intel platform).samdrong wrote:Cool master just announced the Z600.

A fan is not included, so 1045g is without the fan.FartingBob wrote:Juding from the look of it and CM's less than brilliant rep its probably more of a design choice that theyve tried to justify later on.
