I'm building a budget HTPC for a friend. I need a cheap AM2 CPU fan that can fit into the nMedia 100 HTPC case that I have.
Items I'm planning on using:
nMedia 100 HTPC case
AMD 2400BE
ASUS M3A78-EM
If the nMedia 100 HTPC case is a poor choice please let me know. I got it for next to nothing several months ago and was going to use it to keep the cost down. If it gets very hot, or is very loud I can get a different one. Thanks

Well, your components are pretty cool running, which is good. However, that case design is about 5 years old and wasn't very good then. It only has a single 60mm exhaust fan, which will not move any air when it's slowed down to a quiet level. I guess you can try it and see, then buy a different case if it doesn't work out.
Thanks, I'll check them out. The Shuriken I have looked at before and thought it looked good. I thought the Arctic Cooling 64 was going to be to tall though. If it would work it would be ideal. Don't confuse AC 64 heatpipe tower cooler with non heat-pipe low profile Alpine / / 64 PMW. The keyword is Alpine: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835186009
Difference betwen Alpine 7 and Alpine 64 PMW is that with 7 you get Mounting kit for Socket 775 aswell.

I noticed that after I looked it up. I was thinking of the heat-pipe version to start out with. I think I'll go with the Alpine 7 so I can move it to a intel system down the road if I need to.
