Probably Stupid Idea

Post by Rory B. » Sat Jun 14, 2003 8:13 am

Could I possibly get a Zalman Flower cooler and then just run my two rear case fans straight over it, possibly with a duct of some type?

not a stupid idea; its been tested and works quite well. In fact, any heatsink can be ducted to an exhaust to cut down a fan in the system, and its quite effective.

The main problem with the ducting is that u'll have to find a setup that'll suit you using the right materials that will be easy to work with, I've seen ducts made out of cardboard, metal, and plastic that has been supported by a wireframe
:), rusty did a lot of design into his in desk PC and it shows doesn't it?

Use the heatsink from the Zalman 7000, it is round and is designed for air incoming sideways through it.
