Ninja rev. B on Socket AM2+/AM3

Post by tsmvengy » Mon Jun 29, 2009 6:37 am

I have a Scythe Ninja revision B on a socket 939 motherboard right now.

I am thinking about upgrading my computer and using the Asus M4a78 motherboard. This is an AM2+/AM3 motherboard.

Will I need to get a new bracket to attach the ninja to this motherboard? If so, where can I get this?

Thanks!

If you have a SCNJ1000 you need a new bracket. If you have a SCNJ1000P no, I guess it's enclosed in the HS retail box.

I used a Ninja B (SCNJ1000) up to 2007, with a Thermalright Bolt Thru Kit on a LGA775 socket, so I mean all that you need may be this one:

Cool, I'm fairly certain I have the 1000P. I'll have to look through the box.

Remember that all AM sockets use the same mounting mechanisms, so if it fits AM2, then it also fits AM2+ and AM3.

Cool.

I checked the box, it has the AM2 logo on it.

From the manual, it says you just use the same bracket for sockets 754, 939, and AM2.
