Replacement fan for Zalman CNPS-7700Cu?!

Post by speedycars » Sun Feb 07, 2010 10:24 am

Hello, would you recommend me an replacement fan for my CPU cooler Zalman CNPS-7700Cu?
It became a little noisy at low RPM's over the years... :(

I would like to keep or even decrease the current sound levels and keep or even increase the airflow.

Thank you! :)

May be I could replace it with Nexus Real Silent Series Case Fan (120MM. Black/White. D12SL-12 BW)

I replaced the fan on mine. You have to chop the fan up, drill some holes for bolts, and use some spacers. You do end up with the exact fan you want in return for your trouble.

It seems that this particular Nexus is not available in the stores around. :(
Only the PWM transparent model is available, but he's nosier than basic series... :(

Could you recommend me good silent fan that is compatible with my Zalman from this site for example:

Any 120mm fan is "compatible" as you will have to modify it to fit in the cooler. You should decide if you need PWM control off the motherboard or a standard 3 pin fan to run at full speed.

My recommendation is usually towards Arctic F12 PWM fans, cheap and reliable, and also pretty quiet. But if you don't need PWM control, just pick any of the good fans mentioned in this site (Gentle Typhoon, S-Flex, Noctua...) either in their low speed variants, or, if you want to undervolt, get the 1200+ RPM ones and set them to 5v.
