Any personal experience with a Phenom 965 c2 and an H50

Post by gcwebbyuk » Wed Mar 24, 2010 1:49 am

I am currently on a quiet air system - Zalman CNPS10x Flex with Scythe Slim 120 and S-Flex E in a push/pull configuration.

I have been contemplating buying an H50 to try in my system, but have been put off by the posts about it being noisy.

Does anyone actually have an H50 or has had one running with a Phenom 965 C2 and can give me some idea of how loud the unit is?

I would be replacing the fans with S-Flex Es, so not worried about the stock fan noise, it's more the pump noise.

At present, my system runs at the same noise level as an S-Flex at 1000rpm to give some kind of indication of noise level.

Why don't you use a higher end water cooler? You can then select a high end water pump designed for quiet.

Use a GT for rads. They have higher back pressure so they will perform better when there's a airflow restricton (such as a Rad).

I agree with BlackWhizz. The s-Flex in particular woun't be my first choice for that particular application.

If you want some performance info on the H50 running on an AMD, take a look at the AMD bench marking results on the H50 at Frostytech.com and compare them with the results of the Zalman CNPS10x Flex.
