Try strapping it on to the frame without removing the original fan. Then run it with the original fan turned off. See what happens. The Noctua 92mm is a nice fan. You should bet some nice results.

If it works you can then remove the original fan.

Get a 92mm FilterRight filter to top off the Noctua.

I would think that the fan left in place would seriously interfere with the airflow.

I may just give it a try. Gonna check now and see what would be involved.

It would, but this is just a test.

I would like to try it, as if it does not work, I will simply remove the MB and put the whole Noctua unit in.

But I must plan carefully for that downtime and this would allow me to get a quieter computer faster :)

I put in the whole Noctua unit and it is much better than the Intel, Yes!

I may give this fan a try as now it comes down to the finer points of silence which is the "quality" of what little noise there is.

Or maybe a Gentle Typhoon? I forget which brand that is.

I would try a 92mm Scythe Gentle Typhoon. Try the fast one, and then experiment by downvolting it. The faster 120mm GTs downvolt very well, all the way down to 3.5v

I have overclocked to the highest setting as seen on the jpg. And show the fan speed and temp in jpg. Amazing.

And this is at the very lowest voltage possible with the kit they sent me. ULEV or something like that.

What settings are you changing and what results are you getting?
