Exactly that. Nothing else needed. It's especially useful when mounting on case side panels to blow over motherboard heatsinks, if you have narrow case. I was thinking of building my own laptop cooler, but all fans were to 'fat. This could prove quite handyDas_Saunamies wrote:

There are advantages and dis-advantages to these thin fans. They obviously will have a lower CFM than a similar thick-frame fan at the same RPM.
But......when squeezing a fan into a tight place, not only might a thin fan fit the space, but it might have an airflow advantage over a thick fan because of a better airflow on the intake side.
When you guys start building non-standard/smaller setups, the advantages of these thinner fans become apparent. I have many boxes of non-standard fans, just waiting for the right project.
