Panaflos with RPM sensor?

Post by swivelguy2 » Sat Jul 10, 2004 6:06 am

Before I really knew what I was doing, I orderd a couple of 80mm L1A's from SVC, and now I realize that they will probably be made in china, not japan, and won't have an RPM sensing wire. Looking around at some other websites, I am unable to find panaflos for sale that seem to have the third wire.

I would like to make use of RPM sensing in my system, so does anybody know if there are panaflos that can be bought with the RPM sensor wire? Where would I get these in the U.S.?

For reference, these are the basics of my system:
Antec SX-635 (I think, it's OEM)(heavy modification in its future)
Asus P4P800-DX
P4 3.0C @ 3.3 GHz (I fiddle with the specific overclock a lot)
Currently Stock HSF, will replace soon with SLK-900U (thanks, Mike!) and possibly buy a 92mm panaflo for it
Currently 2 no-name jet engine 80mm case fans @ 12v, will replace with panaflos (one 80 and one 120) and 5v/12v homemade baybus
Currently junk generic jet engine PSU, will someday hopefully replace with something Seasonic
Seagate 'cuda 7200.7 120GB (will suspend elastically)
Radeon 9600 Pro with stock HSF (probably will replace with Zalman ZM80C)

You need to find Panaflos with the "BX" suffix at the end of their model number. There's been dozens and dozens of posts about this topic here at SPCR. Use the search and you can easily become an expert on this subject.

http://heatsinkfactory.com/cgi-bin/HFAs ... k=mainpage Great Shop. Call the guy I'd bet he could get something for you if he didn't have it. They're sold out of the 80mm M bx now though.

to my understanding, none of the Panaflo L 80mms have RPM sensing. only the M or higher ones do.

They are available, but quite rare.
