Silencing 24 port switch fan

Post by jerryk » Sun Oct 03, 2004 1:47 pm

HI,

I have a 24 port switch that has a couple of really loud 40 mm fans. Any suggestions for alternative fans that would quieter?

Thanks,

Jerry

There have been several threads about finding quieter 40mm fans, one within the past week or so. Use the search to obtain a (small) list of the potential contenders.

What kind of switch is it?

I've worked with some 3Com Superstack 10/100 switches. The company I worked for at the time had 2 dozen of them. After about a year the little fans siezed on probably half of them. 2 years later, they were still kicking just fine and with heavy trafffic, daily.
