San Ace 120mm fans?

Post by hkhawk » Mon Jan 10, 2005 8:33 pm

Hey, I saw these fans listed on another website

http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/p ... =3&mitem=9

Now they run at a whopping 2600RPM and 39dBA (ouch!) but apparently if they are ratcheted down they are very quiet with no bearing or motor noise. I don't know if I buy this because the people who have bought these are probably deaf from prolonged exposure but I thought it would be interesting to hear what you guys think. And they're only $5 bucks each but you may need to get a couple in order to find the really good ones. Oh yeah, they're the fat 38mm type fans. I have learned over time only to trust opinions of people on this board when it comes to silence so I would like to hear what you guys think. Could these really be quiet as billed or no chance?

I actually own a few San Ace 120x38mm fans,

They're around that spec, I cant remember exactly what the cfm and db were. Something like 105cfm and 39db anyway.

At 5v they emitted motor noise, so not great all in all.
