New ABIT NF7-S v2 too noisy!

What northbridge replacement fan should I get? This thing is so noisy it's ridiculous!

Thanks
Matt

Don't replace it with a fan at all. One of these works perfectly: ZM-NB32J

most likely u can unplug the fan and be happy, so many motherboards i look at the mobo fan dies and is never a problem... i have a $4 zalman chipset heatsink on my nf7 never been a problem (the tall blue heatsink zalman sells i thik u can get it at most stores online ie newegg)... my cpu is watercooled as well meaning no airflow around the chipset's heatsink... never had issues.

Northbridge

Don't get a fan at all. Any fan small enough to fit on the northbridge is going to have to spin so fast to move a meaningful amount of air that it will be very noisy - not to mention that most northbridge fans are cheap and nasty. Many at SPCR use the Zalman ZM-NB32J or the Zalman ZM-NB47J, which are simply large heatsinks, that fit in place of the default fansink. The 32 is slightly smaller, and attaches with permenant thermal epoxy. The 47 attaches using the standard diagonal pushpins, which may be found on the NF7-S . See http://www.quietpc.com/uk/vgamb.php#zmnbj for details.

Exactly. About the only problem people occasionally run into with those is that some wide CPU heatsinks may extend out to where the higher pins are. A couple of snips with a pair of pliers will fix that.

Excellent choice. I have SLK947U modified, and it conflicts a little with that heatsink. I simply used my thumb and pushed in 2 of the pins. No problems. I have overclocked an 1800+ to 11x200mhz and the zalman gets enough airflow from my 92mm panaflo m1BX to stay "warm" but not "hot"

The heatsink on that board can get pretty hot. A passive heatsink is OK if you have good air movement. If not you should direct a fan twords it if you start getting instability. That chipset fan drove me crazy too. It was the loudest part of the computer by far.
