Who would buy Yate Loons in Europe? [Update, price info]

Post by Aleksi » Sat Apr 16, 2005 9:28 pm

Hi guys,

I've been talking some possible sellers for Yate Loons in Europe. I wanted to make this poll, so that I would have some sort of information on people's interest in these. I'm guessing that there would be interest, as the german member Webfire made a bigger order for just german forum users. I cannot say for the price yet, but most likely we would be moving in areas around <12€. But maybe even cheaper, depending on the model. So if you would be interested, please vote.

It might even be possible to get a SPCR discount on these :D

Also if you're in North America you can vote, as it might be possible to ship them there for reasonable cost. Just be sure to make a post where you say your location.

If you would be interested in other sizes (92mm, 80mm) please post what model and how many you would like.

I'm forwarding this poll to the seller, so they will have some kind of indication on the interest levels.

Thank you.

-------

UPDATE:

orange Yate Loon D12SL-12 1000RPM version ("Nexus") and the D80SL-12 (low speed 80mm sleeve bearing) were added to the poll.

Also, it might be possible to get some of the D14SL-12 if there is interest in it. Post about it you have interest.

The SPCR discount is looking good. All models should be under <10€, except the D14SL Yate Loon.

The shipping should be ~6€ for 4pcs 120mm fans worldwide, with certain date restrictions. It would be only able to send at this low shipping costs at two specific dates in a month.

and a reminder: THIS IS NOT A GROUP ORDER. This poll is to provide information about the interest level in these fans. This would help him in negotiating prices etc...

And just to make clear, I don't get financial benefit from this poll or from it's results. Not even a free fan. *wink* *wink* :D

D12SL-12, though that's not my main choice - I'd like to see an 80mm low-speed sleeve bearing model (D80SL-12) if it's as quiet as a Panaflo at 5v/7v.

I'm not interested in a group buy like this simply because I can order them in a normal webshop.

http://www.ichbinleise.de/index.php?cPath=27_225 for the medium speed in three sizes.
Or a Nexus fan if I want the low speed. (<€12 is not much less than €13)

Hi Tibors,

I can see I was a bit unclear in my first post, sorry for that. This is by NO means a group buy. I'm doing this just to see how much interest people have for these fans. When the seller knows how much there is interest for Yate Loons and what models, he knows how much he should buy them, if he gets the chance.

Now, I can only throw guesses here, but the price for the D12SL-12 should be ~9€ and the blue LED D12SM-12 should be ~12€. But these are just questimates, they could (should?) be lower if there is enough interest. The <12€ was just a rough guess.

So to make it clear, this is just a poll for interest. There won't be any kind of group buy. SPCR users could buy these fans as individuals from the seller. This is just to map the interest level there would be for these fans. For example, he would buy 100 fans to his stock, if there was indication there would be interest in these. If there was only little interest, he could only buy 10. This just as an example.

Who would buy Yate Loons in Europe?

Hi all !

I am rather interested in the D14SL-12, or maybe in the D14SM-12.

With a 140mm fan, it would be an impressive fan for my SP-94 !

I already see the overclocking and hear the silence !

See you

Wow, I didn't realize Yate Loon made a 14cm fan. Know where a pair could be had? Just the thought of a pair of D14S L/M -12 _/D fans, esp. a pair of D14SM-12Ds (if they exist), is getting me really excited if they prove to be at or near SPCR-quiet levels at approperiate RPMs.

What would I use this for? Well, they would be awesome case fans depending on the case, true, but I was thinking of some big honking 1" thick heatercore apps. :D

Hi DrCR,

If the buyer I'm talking with decides and is able to get the 14cm Yate Loon, he would most likely go for the L model, 25.4mm thick. But he noted it from Eric's post.

Cool. Wouldn't the M be a better choice (Eric, don't you think?)? Of all the reports I've heard of good samples of D12SM-12, they match acoustically with the L model when spinning at the same RPM. Wouldn't the same be true with the D14S series?

YateLoons website makes no mention of a D (38mm) width D14, so that's not a factor for this size.

Hi Webfire,

I've been talking with the seller actively. He basicly has decided what models and how much he will get. The prices will be available after he gets confirmation on the shipping costs from the manufactuer to Germany. But the fans should be available in a month or so if everything goes as it should.

We agreed that I would not give details until everything is sorted out. But the fans voted for in the poll should be available.

I was a bit "disappointed" by the low amount of votes in the poll. However, the prices and shipping (and models) should come to such a level, that even north american users could be interested. The SPCR discount will be very good in my honest opinion.

Btw, there should be atleast one, maybe even two positive surprises in the fan selection if everything goes as planned :)

When the fans come available I will post a new thread with models, prices, shipping costs, SPCR discount and of course, the website for the seller.

Sounds great! Thank you for the effort.

From you post I assume that the seller is in Germany? So lower shipping costs for me. woohoo

Well I think there is a lot more interest. I know of two people from silenthardware.de who are in search of D12SL-12s and there are probably more.

Good call. If someone here is a member of silenthardware.de too, post a thread linking Aleksi's post when the fans become available as I'm sure as well many over there would be interested as well.

...wished I had studied my german harder when I took two years of it in highschool... :?
