Dave at QuietPC.com is at our request investigating the possibility of stocking the Papst fan model - 4412F/2GL. They have stores in the UK, AU, CA, etc.. Another poll will be taken at the ProCooling Forum. - FG

High on recommended fan list

One great thing about this fan is well it performs in higher restrictive environments compared to other 25mm fans. The 4412 has been unavailable in the US maket, as far as I know, since Directron stopped carring the line. And unlike Directron's old stock, this version of the 4412 has RPM signal output.

FG, I'm getting the poll started over at ProCooling now with a reference link to this one. The 4412 is a great fan and I'm sure there are many out there who would like to get their hands on some.

Edit: Link to the ProCooling poll

Is that the difference between the 4412F/2GL and the 4412FGL?

I purchased a 4412FGL from Directron a few months ago, and it has the large 4-pin molex connector instead of the small 3-pin fan connector. No problems starting w/ 5v mod, very quiet, doesn't feel like it moves much air.

I don't know if I'll need another 120 or not.

I have a few extra 4412's laying around if anyone is interested in them, I would sell them for a reasonable price.

W,

The /2 indicates tachometer or rpm sensing. Getting the tach feature has made the fan hard to find in the us. - FG

doesnt move much air???????

my 4412FGL from directron is great, its smooth, its not silent, however, it moves air. it doesnt like move a lil air, it has a strong push. This is why I wouldnt go Nexus 120 in a performance setup with only one big exhaust...

Got one of these beauties in my shuttle and it works more efficiently than the panaflo 120x38mm fan! It's quieter for the airflow and if i had a silent PSU would make a silent system!

GET THESE FANS!

QuietPC.com will offer 4412F/2GL's in ~ 6 wks

Post by frankgehry » Wed Apr 27, 2005 11:11 am

I spoke with Steve at www.QuietPC.com today and he will be receiving a new shipment in about 6 wks that will have a number of papst fans including the 4412F/2GL's. Prices are up in the air at the moment, but quantity talks. You can speak directly to Dave or Steve about cost.

They will also be receiving a new fan from acoustiproducts called the dustproof. It looks like a nexus competitor with a higher top speed. http://www.acoustiproducts.com/en/acoustifan.asp#AFDP. It has a sealed motor. That's interesting. My globe doesn't have a sealed motor. It should be available in about 6 weeks. - FG
