Blue LED D12SM-12 Yate Loon's

Post by L3thal » Thu May 05, 2005 4:09 pm

Hey everybody, I found a source for the D12SM-12 Yate Loon's. They operate out of Canada, but they do ship to the U.S. for around $10 depending on how many you order and where you live. I emailed them and they confirmed that they were indeed Yate Loon's. Here's the link:

Hi, I just recieved my Yate Loon fans today, took about 2 weeks, probably because they had to clear customs, but they did finally arrive :D Anyways, I checked their website yesterday, and they didn't have them listed, so they might be sold out of 'em. I fired one up(@12v) and they run very smooth, with just a lil bit of air noise. Here's a pic:

These are excellent fans. I use 5 of them total in my current rig

When undervolted to 5v I can't tell much of a difference between these and Nexus 120mm's.

Are these supposed to be hard to find? Or is it specifically the blue LED fans (ugh, you can have 'em :))?

PCTek Online has them on sale right now for $5.50/ea, or 10/$45.00 ...

Those don't have RPM monitoring.

Uh...those fans are different. The black frame model has no RPM monitoring. And it's hard to know for certain if this fan blows the same cfm as the blue LED.

The blue Yate Loon is a very quiet unit, as quiet as the orange models at the same rpm.

They are very hard, if not impossible to find in the U.S.(LED or not) I ordered the Black ones from PCTek, but they sent me Young Lin Tech's, I guess their supplier sent them the wrong ones, so they're out of the Yate Loon 120's for the moment. I would have rather had the black ones though, but these aren't too bad...much better than bright orange 8)

and as for the PCTEK store, aren't the Young Lin the same as the Yate Loon?

That is an 80mm fan, dunno if they are Yate Loon's or not, the labels look similar to a Yate Loon though, I would email them to make sure before I bought them. I think the Young Lin's are made in the same factory as the Yate Loon's, but they seem to be two completely different fans, the Young Lin seems to be a faster fan, but does run smooth.

No, the tekgems blue led yls don't have corner posts.

EDIT: I'm not completely sure. I can't find mine at the moment to verify this.
EDIT: They have corner posts like the orange ones.

They're more brittle that the orange ones. Someone in the gallery is just using longer screws intead of cutting out the posts. If its for an xp-120 I guess you have to take out the posts.

To people that found this post from Google, buysellwizards dot com is now a crappy filler search portal. Don't click on those links.

I was looking for a vendor for these fans, I'll post back if/when I find one.
