How making a quiet 92mm axial fan thread?

Post by oakdad » Sat May 14, 2005 9:26 pm

The large amount of info about the 120mm fans found in the
The Top SPCR Quiet 120mm Axial Fans Compared + 120mmAC Fans.
Thread, is such great information I was wondering if you guys think we should make a simular thread for the 92mm fans? After all with the large number of us using CPU coolers requiring 92mm fans I thought it would be nice to have this info.

I think its a good idea. I'll list some and add specific model info later. I think they should be available. I know they make 92 mm globes but where can you buy one?

Acoustifan - UK, US

Globe S122512L-3M - availability unknown

Nexus 92 - US

Yate Loon 92 - www.ichbinleise.com (rebadged as chieftec)

Bi-sonic 9225L/M/H www.mouser.com

Pabst 3412 (many models) www.ichbinleise, some in US

i'd just like to re-iterate that this fan has been working very nicely for me on an xp-90, and now that my new motherboard has pwm controls i can say the fan exhibits no additional noise when pwm or voltage controlled. not bad for a $2.50 ball-bearing fan. at low pwm levels it's effectively silent for me, much better than running at 5v where it was still in the low 1000s of rpms.

the outfit responsible seems to be tranyoung, which i wasn't previously aware of.
